Someone asked me a while back what was my favourite english word, and I said..... Carpe Diem!! It is of course neither english nor just one word, but I am such a fan of the concept it espouses. 

[And on a completely unrelated note if you have not seen it I recommend the movie Dead Poet&#039;s Society - that&#039;s were I learned the phrase and it is a inspiring movie.]
